Christian Wandersee, Chief Executive Officer is a co-founder. He joined the company in 1999. From January 2000 to July 2004 he was managing director and CFO. In August 2004 he became CEO of the company.
He graduated in Business Administration from the University of Wuerzburg. Mr. Wandersee started his professional training at VARTA Batterie AG, Hannover, Germany.

Dr Frank Tegtmeier, Chief Scientific Officer, joined vasopharm in 2001.
He has 15 years of experience in research & development acquired at Janssen-Cilag, Germany (a Johnson & Johnson company).
After leading several research groups he was head of the preclinical research of Janssen-Cilag.
Dr Tegtmeier was responsible for the European coordination of all research activities in the field of CNS-pharmacology and was also in charge of transferring compounds from the preclinical research to the clinical evaluation within a European project management.
He was Lecturer at the Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf and taught Pathophysiology of the mammalian brain. He is author of over 100 publications within the fields of cerebral infarction and cerebral pathophysiology.
Dr Tegtmeier received his PhD from the Medizinische Hochschule and the Institute for Organic Chemistry, Hannover, Germany.

Dr Peter Scheurer, Head of Chemistry and Manufacturing, joined vasopharm in 2002 from Henkel KGaA, Duesseldorf, where he worked on product optimisation of detergents and adhesives. Dr Scheurer started at vasopharm as a project leader in drug discovery and became the Head of Chemistry and Manufacturing in 2006.
Dr Scheurer received his PhD in chemistry from the University of Siegen. Before starting his studies, Dr Scheurer trained as an industrial sales representative at Chr. Höver & Sohn, Lindlar.

Prof Dr Reinhard Schinzel, Head of Pre-Clinical Research, joined vasopharm in 2002 from the Institute of Physiological Chemistry (Medical school of the University of Wuerzburg), where he had more than a decade of experience in research and teaching. His main interests are degenerative diseases, in particular diabetes and renal failure.
He served for two years as associate professor and before for ten years as an assistant professor and group leader at University of Wuerzburg, Institute of Physiological Chemistry in the field of bacterial carbohydrate metabolism and glycoxidative stress.
Dr Schinzel was trained in biology (with emphasis on microbiology and biochemistry) at Heidelberg and Wuerzburg and received his PhD in microbiology at the University of Wuerzburg.
