Christof Antz, PhD, Chairman, obtained his PhD in physics/structural biology at the Max-Planck-Institute for Medical Research (Heidelberg). He has extensive experience in managing start-up and early-phase biotech companies. In 1998, he co-founded Otogene (Tübingen and Seattle), and after leaving Otogene served as CEO at Abeta (Heidelberg) before joining EMBL Ventures in 2003.

Klaas de Boer, Board Member, Advisor to the Board of the Entrepreneurs Fund LP, Jersey, Channel Islands. He has spent the last 10 years working with entrepreneurial (technology) companies in Europe, Israel and the US in the areas of finance, strategy and business development. Previously he established and managed a corporate venturing team at Vanenburg Group, and worked as a strategy consultant with McKinsey & Co.

Clemens Doppler, PhD, Board Member, is Managing Partner of HeidelbergCapital Asset Management GmbH.

Markus H. Weissbach, MD, PhD, Board Member, is Chief Executive Officer of Averion International Corp., Southborough, MA, USA. Dr Weissbach has more than 20 years experience in international drug development and a track record of several successful NDAs. After 6 years of practicing medicine in cardiology, surgery and intensive care, he held executive positions at Knoll AG, Takeda Euro R&D Ltd and Icon plc.
