Christian Wandersee is a co-founder. He joined the company in 1999. From January 2000 to July 2004 he served as managing director and CFO. In August 2004 he became CEO of the company.

He graduated with a Master degree in Business Administration from the University of Wuerzburg. Mr. Wandersee started his professional education as an industrial clerk at VARTA Batterie AG, Hanover, Germany. He further spent one year at West Valley College, Saratoga, California, USA.

Dr. Frank Tegtmeier joined vasopharm in 2001.

He worked for more than 5 years in the field of gastroenterology and hepatology at the Oststadt-Hospital Hanover, Germany. Afterwards he acquired 15 years of experience in research & development at Janssen-Cilag, Germany (a Johnson & Johnson company).

As head of the preclinical research of Janssen-Cilag Germany he was in charge of transferring compounds from preclinical CNS-pharmacology to clinical evaluation. 

He was Lecturer at the Heinrich-Heine-University Duesseldorf, Germany and taught Pathophysiology of the mammalian brain. He is author of over 100 publications within the fields of cerebral infarction and cerebral pathophysiology.

Dr Tegtmeier received his PhD from the Hanover Medical School (MHH) and the Institute for Organic Chemistry, Hanover, Germany.

Dr. Dr. Irina Antonijevic joined vasopharm in 2016.

She has more than 16 years of drug development experience in different pharmaceutical organizations, with a focus on neuropsychiatric and rare diseases. In her last role at Sanofi Genzyme in Cambridge (MA, USA), she oversaw as Global Head Early Development Neurology and Ophthalmology multiple innovative clinical programs.

Dr Antonijevic received her Venia Legendi from the Charité, Berlin, her MD from the Technical University Munich and her PhD from the University of Edinburgh, UK.

She is board certified in Germany and completed her residency at the Max-Planck-Institute for Psychiatry in Munich.

She has been a regular reviewer for the German Ministry of Research (BMBF) since 2006.

Dr. Peter Scheurer joined vasopharm in 2002 from Henkel KGaA, Duesseldorf, where he worked on product optimisation of detergents and adhesives. Dr. Scheurer started at vasopharm as a project leader in drug discovery & development and became the Head of Chemistry & Manufacturing in 2006. 

Dr. Scheurer received his Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Siegen. Before starting his studies, Dr. Scheurer trained as an industrial business management assistant.

Prof Dr Reinhard Schinzel is since 2008 Head of Research of vasopharm responsible for coordination of pre-clinical and clinical research. From 2002 to 2008 he was responsible for the diagnostics project, which was out-licensed successfully. He joined vasopharm from the Institute of Physiological Chemistry (Medical school of the University of Wuerzburg), where he for two years as associate professor with main interest in glycoxidative stress and degenerative diseases of the kidney and the brain. Before he was assistant professor and group leader at the same institute with interests in the field of bacterial carbohydrate metabolism and diabetes research.  Dr Schinzel received his PhD in microbiology at the University of Wuerzburg. He gives lectures in biochemistry and cardiovascular biology at the University of Wuerzburg and is author of more than 100 scientific publications, reviews, books and patents

Dr. Ingrid Pfeuffer joined vasopharm in 2006 as a freelance consultant for clinical development. Her tasks comprise establishing of monitoring and co-monitoring systems as well as supporting the vasopharm clinical project manager. In the Phase III study she serves as Project Manager.

She has been working in clinical research at the phase I/II CRO IKP GmbH, Gruenstadt, Germany for 16 years, and was in charge of the phase II unit, quality assurance and training of CRAs. From 1993 until 2005 she was member of the management board of IKP GmbH.

 Dr. Pfeuffer received her PhD in biology from the Johannes-Gutenberg-University Mainz, Germany.

Claudia Wolf-Werner joined vasopharm in September 2002 and acted as a technical assistant in preclinical R&D until October 2008. From November 2008 to June 2013 she assumed the role of a Clinical Research Associate (CRA) on the VAS203 program, mainly in the field of Co-Monitoring in line with the European multicentre Phase IIa study (NOSTRA trial). She was subsequently appointed CRA & Project Manager for the Phase Ic study in July 2013. In March 2014 Claudia took over the responsibility for Co-Monitoring, and as main contact point of vasopharm for the study sites, the entire management of the sites of the European Phase III (NOSTRA-III) multicentre trial in her current role as Clinical Trial Manager.

She started her professional training in October 1998 at the Professional School for Laboratory Technical Assistants, University of Erlangen, Germany, and spent afterwards one year at the University Clinic of Wuerzburg, Germany (Department of Internal Medicine / Nephrology) before joining vasopharm.

Simone Kirksey, joined vasopharm in March 2016 and acted as Office Manager until she completed her training as Clinical Research Associate (CRA),  conducted by the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in October 2016.

Upon completion of her professional training as an Art Dealer in 1999, Simone Kirksey attended Interpreter’s school in Würzburg before relocating abroad, where she held civilian positions for the Armed Forces of the United States. After returning to Germany in 2006 she pursued working for the US Military as a contractor until 2014, before enrolling at the University of Applied Science, Munich. After completing her studies in Marketing Management and Business Administration she joined vasopharm.

Dr. Helge Joa joined vasopharm as a Freelance Consultant in March 2017 and acts as a Senior Clinical Research Associate on the VAS203 program, in the field of Co-Monitoring in line with the European multicenter Phase III study (NOSTRA III trial). 

He has been working in clinical research as a CRA since January 2012 on behalf of several sponsors before joining vasopharm.

Dr. Helge Joa received his PHD (Dr. rer. nat.) in the field of molecular biology at the University of Vienna (Austria).

Kim-Maria Eilitz joined vasopharm in March 2017 as a Freelance Consultant Senior Clinical Research Associate. Her main tasks comprise Co-Monitoring of the on-going NOSTRA III trial as well as supporting vasopharm’s clinical project management. Kim-Maria has significant experience in clinical research supporting Phase I-IV/Post-Marketing Trials and Non-Interventional Trials in all study relevant aspects. Kim-Maria is well versed in various aspects of study management and different clinical indications.

Kim-Maria Eilitz obtained her science degree in Applied Biology at the University of Bonn-Rhine Sieg, Germany in 2010.
